With the Washtenaw County Conservation District, Doug supervises and coordinates conservation resources programs, sales, and distributions including the Tree & Shrub sales and Native Plant sales, , Rain Barrel Sales, Tool & Equipment Rentals, and has developed and coordinated the Native Plant Expo & Marketplace and School & Community Habitat Grant.
Doug holds a degree in Computer Science degree from University of Michigan, and spent several years in Detroit involved in urban community gardening/farming and as an organic vegetable farmer. Doug previously served as a Stewardship Technician and Volunteer Coordinator Assistant with Washtenaw County Natural Areas Preservation Program and is a 2019 graduate of the Conservation Stewards Program.
Doug is a dedicated dad, iNaturalist enthusiast, and lives with his family, dogs, goats, and chickens in Chelsea, MI.
