The Ohio River Way (www.ohioriverway.org) is a 3 year old nonprofit working to develop a 275 mile adventure tourism corridor along the Ohio River from Portsmouth, Ohio to Louisville, KY. Working with 30+ historic river towns, the metro areas of Cincinnati and Louisville and dozens of state and federal agencies, tourism bureaus, park districts, land conservancies, and nonprofit partners, the Ohio River Way promotes outdoor recreation, connects communities and celebrates the Ohio River Way of life. The presentation will cover our partnership wth the National Park Service, our River Town Review Program and our work to generate funds for capital develoment projects (boat ramps, campgrounds, bike trails, signage) and marketing campaigns along the corridor.

The Ohio River Way
Brewster is the Chair of the Ohio River Way Board. He has spent 40+ years as an environmental activist and political organizer in Greater Cincinnati. An avid kayaker, he is the founder of the Ohio River Paddlefest, the largest paddling event in the U.S. and on the board of Adventure Crew, the sponsoring nonprofit that works in 25 innercity high schools to get urban teens out into nature to paddle, hike, bike, fish, ski and camp. Brewster was the executive director of Green Umbrella, Greater Cincinnati's sustainability alliance and worked on the staff of Ohio Governor Ted Strickland as his SW Ohio Regional Director. He is on the board of the Mill Creek Alliance and the Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund.
