Invasive species collaboratives benefit from the collective efforts of diverse stakeholders to advance research and inform effective management. The Great Lakes Phragmites Collaborative (GLPC) and European Frog-bit (EFB) Collaborative provide two successful case studies for implementing Collective Impact at a regional scale. The GLPC formed in 2012 to facilitate communication among stakeholders across the region and serve as a resource center for information on invasive Phragmites biology, management, and research. The EFB Collaborative was established in 2018 to improve coordination and collaboration among stakeholders and build consensus on next steps for EFB management and research in Michigan and was expanded to include other Great Lakes partners in 2022. We highlight the potential of partnerships, shared research, information sharing, and coordinated management strategies to manage both an established and newly invading invasive plant in the Great Lakes.
