Amphibians and reptiles are key indicators of ecosystem function making them critical for conservation and as markers for evaluating environmental health. This presentation will focus on the recently completed Michigan Herpetofauna Habitat Assessment Tool (Herp HAT) and the applications of this important assessment tool for protecting landscapes and species. The presentation will also showcase several Best Management Techniques (BMPs) for restoring and improving habitat for amphibians and reptiles taken from the recently released Second Edition of the Michigan Amphibian and Reptile Best Management Practices Manual.
